On this episode of naked and afraid: fording alone at night in the Hundred Mile Wilderness.

I could smell campfire almost a mile from my intended shelter sleep spot. I knew that meant I wouldn’t be camping alone, whereas solo slumbering is typically my preference. I show up to nearly a dozen tents and two people in the shelter, an unattended smoldering fire, a bag of open marshmallows, open graham crackers, and several kitchen pots & pans caked with what looked to be chili and macaroni & cheese residue. If all the critters and creatures of the woods weren’t already coming in the middle of the night then they sure were now.. Some people, man
