Mental illness hike at the arch this morning with my beautiful, amazing daughter.
We hit the trail early to beat the heat and to help me face the weight of losing my sweet girl, Pepper.

Pepper and I shared 10 wonderful, adventurous years. She was always by my side, through every chapter of my life—just happy to be near me, loving every minute. Losing her has left a hole in my heart. A part of me feels like I let her down, even though I know her love was pure, loyal, and never in question.

Mother Nature showed up today, like she always does. The sunrise, the stillness, and a prayer whispered up the trail gave me just enough peace to breathe. I know Pepper is with her best buddy Cowboy now, running free, wild, and full of joy.

Grief doesn’t let go easily, and days like this will come. But faith reminds me, we’ll all be together again one day. That truth doesn’t take the pain away, but it makes it a little more bearable.

Thank you, sweet girl, for every step, every wag, every bit of comfort you gave. I’ll carry your love with me always. 💔🐾
