It’s been 181 days since my last Smoot…so we had to choose a good one for getting back on the wagon…and no better way to do that than to team up with my main man Nels Pederson and gun down the Twin Sisters Traverse. 
These two peaks lived up to their reputation for proper adventurous scrambling. I was blown away at how fun and sustained and grippy and solid the rock was out here. I now know why the NW ridge up to North Twin is called the best scrambling in the state. Maybe I’m just beaming because I haven’t scratched the Smootie itch in a while but gaining and trying to stay on the ridgetop had me cheesin’ for all the right reasons. 
Also, doing the traverse made for a really full experience. The day included all the things — biking, climbing, a small glacier crossing, route finding, a lil bit of schwacking/sidehilling and some fresh running water to top off. Would recommend for anybody trying to bag both the Smoot and the taller, more prominent South Twin across the way. 
Also, in case you forgot, it’s easy to still get sunburned through the clouds. 🦞
