Type 2.5 fun. Should've taken PCTA seriously when they said Lamarck col section isn't a trail 😅
Challenging terrain featuring:
Giant boulder fields where use of arms were inevitable & route planning challenging (gain elevation, plan for what you see, repeat)
Steep crampon-required snow climbs (it looked like another nearby pass could be a skree alternative)
Large snow fields (JMT is buried in more snow today than "early season" 2022)
Trails as wet & flooded as the Mumbai monsoons
Stone steps and assorted rocks to kill your knees many times over
Unexpected broken bridge in the middle of the night requiring scrambling on a waterfall
Lucky that an intense thunderstorm started after I crossed my last pass but got completely soaked
