High Camp Meadow Loop
Hiking Trail
Easy
1.18 mi
193 ft
Easy hike from the top of the tram, through flower-filled meadows with a view of Lake Tahoe.
During the summer at Palisades Tahoe, High Camp is the place to be. There you’ll find dining with a view, a swimming pool and hot tub, shopping, outdoor games, and even skiing on winter’s leftover snow. Most visitors reach it by riding the aerial tram, but you can hike there on [Shirley Canyon Trail](https://fatmap.com/routeid/42943/Shirley_Canyon_Trail) or [Thunder Mountain Trail](https://fatmap.com/routeid/1590372/thunder-mountain-trail). From High Camp, a number of other hikes are possible, including this popular and easy loop through the surrounding meadows.
It’s a gentle walk uphill, on a dirt path through a meadow of yellow wildflowers on a sunny slope. Ahead you’ll see the craggy, snow-streaked peaks of the ski resort, and in the distance, you can see Lake Tahoe rimmed by more mountains. The loop’s highpoint is on a ridgeline with an even broader panorama. The hike then turns downhill on a different, equally scenic path to return to High Camp.
