I had planned to run the Georgia Loop again. This time I would skip the old DRT and take the much more favorable new. I also carried a 12 pound pack. Things were going well till the sun decided to show up. I’ve done so much dumb shit on those trails. Today was one of the most miserable. I had a 22 mile stretch with no reliable water source. The leaves haven’t filled in higher up so full exposure. I tried to recover from the dehydration at hwy 60 for an hour. Didn’t really help that much. I pushed on. I finally decided I didn’t want to drive back from Woody Gap. I had my wife pick me at the ranger camp as it’s only a few miles from home. Either way I’m happy. Unsupported stuff has a higher chance of failure.
