COE Reunion Paddle

five day canoe camping in the adirondacks with my coinstructors Sarah and Emile from teaching ADK Canoe Camping for COE three years ago

every day the weather was perfect, cool and misty in the morning, warm and sunny in the afternoon, and cold and crisp at night

leisurely pace meant lots of time for lounging in the canoes in the sun and going for chilly swims 

highlights: our tentsite on rock pond, night paddle on lake lila, the "mushroom risotto" for dinner no. 2 (i was so hungry), messing around on the train tracks, relaxing at clear pond while Sarah made cinnamon rolls, hiking up grass pond mtn and looking down over lows lake while getting sunburnt, the fall foliage, and being silly and goofy with friends

lowlights: somehow we had a headwind 95% of the time, even swinging around to the east for the final day; being congested the whole time from being sick in the days prior; and making three trips for every carry bc we couldn't move all our gear in one go
