My last full day on trail was marked by my fatigue, but it was also a really fun day! The MTB trails outside of Tijeras were a pleasure to walk, I met Don, the only person I saw biking, and he was so kind and so stoked about my walk. Then I got a sandwich at Roots Cafe before heading up into the Sandias! When I got up to South Sandia Peak, I met Andrew—a mathematician—who knew so much about the Sandias geological history I almost mistook him for a geologist. It’s honestly so nice to run into people who are also out recreating. So much of this hike has been solitary and at times I’ve felt like the only person left on the planet. A great day on the GET
