17 mi slack pack. Just 10lbs! Practice glissade/self arrest, Jack rolls tape down hill, where is Jack Med kit? big descent past lake, water! Meet trail crew—they get paid! Lots of trail mix, border!! Cool. Meet Orchid and AO Light, cross several times. Go back, bit slower. Go to lake, swim, meet Sebastian. Cool dip. Forgot to fill backup. See smoke like 10 mi away. Climb to camp, dinner 1 (cold sad nachos), continue. Mountains! Where is magic leaf? No water and need din2? Fill bladders with snow. Eat snow. See familiar faces. Jack collects sketchy puddle water. Camp near snow patch near huge stone wall. Cold snacks. Admire wall. Message from hitch driver — Nick brought wallet to ranger!
