I left transition feeling pretty good after a fun swim with Beth Abing . Happily munched away on my PBJ as I rode, looking around and just enjoying the race scenery. As I hit mile 1 and finished off my sandwich, I was looking to settle in and really pedal. 

And that's when I knew that I  f*cked up. 😅 I didn't put my shifter batteries in. 🤦‍♀️

I thought about turning around, but didn't want to loose the time, so held out hope that the course would be single speed friendly. I was also hoping the 2nd loop would bring me by the transition area again, so I could grab them, but no such luck. I did luck out that the course mostly had sneaky slow climbs and a lot of flats, so I didn't pay too big of a price. Serves me right for showing up on vibes. 🤷‍♀️

Beautiful ride and I was happy to be done, lol. I'd you read this far, stay tuned for more of thus shit show. 😂
