3rd day in a row I woke up with the intention of running the Cranberry 50. Something about being in the Adirondacks doesn’t make me want to run a cruisy 50 miles around a lake in the slightest. I’ll have to search for some inspiration going forward to get that done. In the meantime, everything I’ve ever dreamed of. 

My main draw to today’s action was to ascend Grace Peak via the Zipper slide or Great slide. Come to find out, yesterday’s slick slab is today’s frozen slab. The sun hadn’t touched the NW facing slides by the time I reached them. Plus my car was covered in frost this morning. Figured it couldn’t hurt to investigate, so I poked out on both slides hoping to fulfill the desire of feeling like a big kid on an adult playground.. no dice. Back to the woods you heathen.

1 human encounter today. Wasn’t carrying my human spray so kept my distance.

Side story about the Dix Range.. this range was the first peakbagging backpacking trip I went on with some buddies. No strava, no trail runners, no vest. I didn’t know any of that shit existed. My buddy Tim carried around a giant thermos full of water.. no backpack. We hiked 4 of the 5 4Ks on this range, but bailed on Dix. After bailing on it again solo due to extreme cold, I finished my ADK46 on Dix this past March. Today felt good. Saving juice for tomorrow’s GRT. End ramble
