Cranmore Mountain Race - 4th Overall

Another just decent race. Sat in second for the early climbs before getting passed by a group just before Koessler. Maintained fifth for most of that until Kasie passed me near the top. Passed her back just before the descent and opened up a decent margin as well as catching Phil and another guy.

Think this has to be one of my favorite race descents. Switchbacks are super fun, but I think I'm just a little too tall for them because i can't seem to get my stride short enough for a totally fluid run through that section. 

Started the second lap in third but got passed by Phil and the other guy after not too long. Then Kasie not too much longer after that. Maintained sixth place to Koessler before actually making up some ground on the other guy and maybe a little on Kasie. Rounded the top and was surprised to see how far ahead Kasie was, but started working on catching her. Made decent progress throughout the descent, but there are not a lot of good passing sections. Ended up just settling for out kicking her at the line, though if the descent was much longer, I may have had a shot at catching Phil and taking 3rd. 

All in all, not a great day, but not terrible. Legs weren't feeling too good and sleep hasn't been the greatest this week, but it is what it is. I'll admit I'm not the greatest uphill runner, think I just need to be willing to hurt more, which is ironic cause I'm pretty good about that on road and track races
