Kept my fleece on for a shocking duration today, but the overcast skies and chill air was a welcome chance from the past several days. Gave myself some slack this morning since the net downhill implied a relatively speedy day. The day didn't really start to pick up in interest until the wildcat hills, which is the first "fun" terrain since leaving So Colorado, and had great views over the hazy plains. Next stop was Scott's Bluff, a classic icon of the Oregon trail, then to Scottsbluff to visit Sonny's bike shop. My pump (very essential) started having issues going above 60psi, then 45psi the last few days and clearly couldn't be trusted any longer. The dudes at the shop were fantastic, and had everything I needed, since I of course had a pre-flat tire rolling into their parkin lot. A little forwards breeze into the evening didn't totally gas me, and I found a little hobo spot to rest next to a pile of glass. Paradise.
