Chill morning to the trailhead, then faffed around the pond having lunch and a beer afterwards. Apparently they shot the final scene of national treasure on some of the rocks around Sylvan lake. Cool shit. Awesome descent of the needles and a diversion to see crazy horse from the "free" section before the tolls. The rest of the day w as s spent generally going fast and down, sometimes on chill compacted gravel and sometimes on semi slick post rain roads. Great day to transition from 100% vacation mode to flight logistics mode.
