Phenomenal day on the bike. Fast, flat, cool morning to close out the plains for this trip, and spent the remainder in great spirits climbing to the top of South Dakota. Passing through Wind Cave NP was an unexpected highlight with the rolling mixed grass prairie and herds of bison lining the road. The final ascent up the Needles highway is now a contender for the finest of my whole trip, culminating with the spines of an sacred landscape turning pink with the setting sun. Sharing a retired Indianan postal workers devils lettuce helped a bit too. I'm incredibly proud of how far I've come on this trip (~2500mi) and feeling the feels that this is one of the final days, but I'm also ready to come home and do adventures there for a while.
